I just wanted to take a quick minute to introduce myself and say thanks to Viper and Who Shot Sam for inviting me on board to contribute to The Viper's Nest. You guys have got a great thing going here, and I'm pleased to be a part of it. I hope my contributions will be on par with what you've done so far.

My name's Tim, aka Homebrew. Any of you visiting from the Big Soccer NYRB forum probably have read some diatribe or other that I've written by now. When Viper first asked me to write for TVN, I imagined an occasional op-ed style piece, which I was planning to call "Seeing Red," a name that has now been taken by the excellent new NYRB-themed podcast. So, I'm looking for a new name. Contenders are "Red Eye," "Don't Stop Bull-lievin'," and "Better Red Than Dead." I'm leaning towards the latter.  I like the irony of its communist suggestions juxtaposed against the corporate shill tag that "Da Hatas" put on Red Bull fans. I'm open to suggestions and opinions, though. Please pass along any ideas you have.

As soon as I finish typing this, I'm out the door for a trip to Florida. I'm planning to attend the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic matches on Saturday, so my next post is either going to be a sunny report from Lake Buena Vista, or a depressed rant brought on by a players' strike. Let's all keep our fingers crossed!

Anyways, thanks again Viper and WSS, and hello readers!
