Red Bull Arena: One Week Away

The Cathedral of Football, Red Bull Arena (built by Makita) is one week away from opening its doors. Not officially, of course. One week from today, Red Bull Arena will host a "Soft Opening" game between the Red Bulls Academy U18 and the U17 USMNT, which recently got spanked by the senior RBNY team down in Bradenton. Anyway, I was thinking that it might be time to pull this out again:

We're almost there Red Bulls fans! The above Red Bull Arena picture is part of a very nice set taken at dusk by Tom Kaminski, of CBS Chopper 880.

Also, our friends at American Soccer News have a few more shots from inside, including a first look at the red and blue squares that will adorn the back of every section.

Finally, Brian Lewis has some nice Arena tidbits in this story. Apparently, Erik Stover has now stated that the Arena "could easily be refitted to hold 32,000 seats by adding in the upper decks".

In other Red Bulls news:

In case you missed it, Estonian midfield maestro Joel Lindpere has been officially signed and Coach Backe expects big things from him.
