Today's Soft Opening game at Red Bull Arena was cancelled early this morning, a decision that proved to make more and more sense as the weather deteriorated into pouring rain and near-hurricane strength winds. All over the region, power lines and trees fell, and roads flooded, making travel difficult and outdoor activities nearly impossible.
All of this ratchets up excitement for next week's Grand Opening. This evening, the team officially declared this game a sell out, as they had been predicting for the last week or so. If you still want to go, they have held an "extremely limited" number of seats for people who wish to buy full-season or eight-game ticket plans this week. So, if you've been thinking about it and want to attend the first event ever in America's new Cathedral of Football, now's the time.
