Matchday @Kansas City: Wizards vs Red Bulls

Good evening! It's a sad day with the USMNT crashing out of the World Cup. There's no time for grieving, however, as it's Major League Soccer time again. The Red Bulls resume their campaign this evening @Kansas City, against the red hot Wizards. RBNY has not been in MLS action for three weeks, save for an International Exhibition against Brazilian club Cruzeiro last week. They'll be looking to pick up where they left off and add to their 7 win, 21 point season. With that in mind, let's get to some predictions.

Matt Conroy (aka Who Shot Sam) has this for us:
OK so the Red Bulls get MLS play underway again in Kansas City after a long layoff. Of course there was that meaningless warmup against Cruzeiro but that does not really matter much. The players should have had a chance to recover from minor injuries and get a rest. Kansas City is not an easy place to play, with its narrow pitch, but if you look at the Wizards’ recent record, this game should be winnable for the Red Bulls. I predict a slow start for both teams, but the Red Bulls get into gear eventually and win 1-0 and a goal from Juan Pablo Angel. Keep Kei Kamara quiet and we should be OK.
I'm going to go with a Red Bulls victory by the score of 1-0 myself. I don't know why, but I'm just hoping it happens so I can get some happiness on this day. Ha, ha!

Homebrew Tim has this for us:
Like most MLS fans, I am completely absorbed in the World Cup and the excitement being created by the USA. There has been almost no news about the Red Bulls or the Kansas City Wizards. (I like to say that with a lilting lisp, "Kanthath Thity Withardths." I think it conveys the proper message about them.) I think the rest came at the right time for the Red Bulls, and that a break and some good training sessions will help us come out of the break with a solid road win. 2-1 Red Bulls, with goals from Altidore and Dempsey--er... Angel and Tchani.
I didn't get a prediction for this one from You Suck Corrales. I'll leave him alone in his hour of USMNT grief. I will, however, invite everyone to join his Facebook fan page. This way you'll always be up to speed with his words of wisdom. That's all for now. Viper Out!
