This past Saturday the Garden State Supportes held their First Annual Art Show/Auction to benefit club operations. I hadn't been to Bello's in a while, so I decided, why not - let me go check this thing out. Several nice items, from GSS members and friends of the club, were on display and up for auction. GSS member (and accomplished artist) Hope McCarthy was kind enough to give me the grand tour of all the stuff up for grabs (check out the video above).
I had my eye on a couple of items (namely this one and this one) but, alas, it wasn't to be. Overall, this event was a success, with some items even going for over $100. And all for a good cause, I assure you. Tifos, road trips, flares, GSS t-shirts/scarves etc... aren't exactly free. You can Click Here for a few pics I took at this event, or Click Here for the slide show.

Before the proceedings started, I had a chance to chat with GSS Prez (and Hub City Stompers drummer extraordinaire) Nuno, regarding the coming season. I had a conversation with him last year that, for whatever reason, didn't go down too well with some people. Nothing of controvery from the Big Chief this year. As a matter of fact, I was stunned to learn that disagreements between the Supporter's Groups are, apparently, a thing of the past. And this is just how it should be. Nuno spoke of a new era of cooperation among RBNY Supporter's groups, what it takes to be a Supporter and what people can expect from all the South Ward. Check it out below:
Alrighty Then! The season is less than two weeks away, so I hope to see you all soon at The Cathedral of Football, Red Bull Arena (built by Makita). Viper Out!
