Those were the immortal words of the great You Suck Corrales after Red Bulls Academy product Juan Agudelo scored a golazo that propelled RBNY to a 1-0 victory over Seattle, this past Saturday night. The 18 year old phenom continues his rapid ascent in MLS and it would not surprise me if several major clubs are inquiring about his services right now. Locking him up now to a long-term designated player deal would be the wise thing to do, but whatever - I'm not in RBNY management.
The first half featured lots of RBNY possession, but only one clear scoring chance. That chance came via a penalty kick won by Agudelo that was promptly missed by Thierry Henry. It took several nice saves from Greg Sutton to keep us in the game. That set the stage for Agudelo's second half heroics.
At the 70th minute mark, Teemu "Terrific" Tainio put a brilliant, inch perfect, ball over the top of the Seattle defense for Adugelo to run onto. The young lad showed great poise, power and precision, as he swatted the Seattle center back to one side, then side-footed the ball past a helpless Keller. DP him NOW, indeed!

Needless to say, insanity ensued in the entire stadium, save in the away supporters section. The Sounders had a golden chance to steal a point, at the death, but Lamar Neagle's point blank shot went over the bar. Thanks be to Odin!
With several key players out for next week's tilt @Columbus, due to international duty, the Red Bulls will need much luck to bring even a point back east. Now with the news that TH14 pulled his hammy on Saturday, the task might be even harder. But whatever! Three points against Seattle is a good way to start it all off. It was great to be among my good friends again, supporting the team that we love. The Bello's hangout was superb, as usual, and it was a pleasure to finally meet several people, including Dave "The Emperor" Martinez, whom I had only conversed with via my Twitter or on Facebook. It was a great atmosphere, yet again, at the Cathedral of Football.

Some very nice fireworks and tifo displays before the game, then the supporters sections in full voice for the duration. Our team still has room for improvement, especially in the goal scoring department, but I would be hard pressed to demand a better atmosphere. It's light years away from the Giants Stadium experience.
On another note, today some are complaining, yet again, about the actual attendance and blah, blah, blah... It was totally great as it was. If you think about all the stadium and transport problems that exist now, can you imagine The Cathedral being sold out every game? Yeah, that's what I thought.
One last thing. As I was leaving, I ran into these two, one of whom proceeded to lecture me on how great Sounders fans are. Yeah, you're f'ng awesome! Thanks for coming :)
