What's there to say about this meaningless game, @The Cathedral of Football, except that I really wasn't much into it. We were treated to a great fanzone experience outside, with a few RBNY players on hand. There were BMX and freestyle displays and lots of stuff for kids to enjoy. Inside, we were treated to skydivers & fireworks. Then is was time for the main event.
In that main event, we got to see a team, with several of the world's top players, against the best that MLS can muster. Unfortunately for fans of MLS, it's tough to be competitive fielding a team of players who just got together a couple of days before this game. That said, the final 4-0 scoreline was a bit harsh as the MLS All-Stars should have scored at least 1 or 2.

So mission accomplished. MLS makes lot of money, and raises its profile, off this one. Best of all, no Red Bulls players suffered season ending injuries. Regarding the on the field performances by the All-Stars, I have to give credit where credit is due. David Beckham, who gets more press these days for his MLS commitment issues, was the standout this past Wednesday. Unlucky to not have scored two, in the first half, Becks showed his class with sublime passes and crosses throughout the match. Honestly, he would not have been out of place in his former team's lineup.
With that now over, it's Red Bulls time again. On Thursday, our team traveled to London, as two Emirates Cup fixtures awaited across the Atlantic. The first one, against Paris Saint-Germain, was played today and the Red Bulls took first-blood, with a 1-0 victory. We can only hope RBNY gets out of this meaningless tournament without any major injuries, as a tough away fixture @RSL comes our way next weekend. The great You Suck Corrales was @The Emirates today (and will be there tomorrow, as well). We'll, hopefully, get some good pics and vids for your viewing pleasure soon.
