Monday RBNY News and Notes: Can You Best TH14?

The Red Bulls returned to the Big Apple today, following their surprising 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Sunday, which was enough to earn them a first place finish in the Emirates Cup and some attractive silverware (come to think of it those do look a bit like bull horns). The club posted a wrap-up video today, with some post-match comments from the likes of Hans Backe, Tim Ream and Thierry Henry. Fast forward to 4:22 to get a glimpse of our very own You Suck Corrales, as well as three young Arsenal fans who were less than happy about the final result.

It also emerged after Sunday's game that Arsène Wenger had hoped to have Henry play the final five minutes of the match in a Gunners shirt - a request that was turned down by the match referee Kevin Friend, citing FIFA regulations. Given Henry's role in the equalizing goal, RBNY can thank Friend for playing his part in earning them the trophy.

In other news, the Red Bulls have launched a unique new video contest involving Mr. Henry. Dubbed "Red Bull Ultimate," it encourages fans to upload a video of a minute or less that demonstrates their best soccer moves or goals. The person submitting the best video will have a chance to to go one-on-one against Henry at Red Bull Arena in a skills competition. You can find out more about eligibility and judging criteria by visiting the contest site and viewing the video above.

To enter, fans must visit the “Ultimate” Tab on Thierry Henry’s Facebook Page, click the “Submit Video” link, complete the entry form and upload a video of one minute or less. There is a limit of one entry per person.  The contest is open not only to American residents, but also to those in the UK, Spain, France, Canada and Puerto Rico. In conjunction with the promotion, we'll be giving out a pair of tickets to a future RBNY home game, so keep an eye out for details.

Finally, check out this video taken by one of the All-Star Game skydivers last week at Red Bull Arena. For the full effect, select the highest resolution and enlarge to full screen. It will make your head spin!
