Matchday @Carson: Galaxy vs Red Bulls

Good Afternoon Red Bulls fans! Our glorious team is back in action today, way out West in LA LA Land, against the Western Conference powerhouse Los Angeles Galaxy (8:00pm ET, ESPN/ESPN Deportes, match notes here). Let's examine how both teams come into this one.

The New York Red Bulls are coming off a miracle 1-0 victory against the New England Revolution. I say miracle, because (as you all know) the Red Bulls defense was in tatters, with so many regulars out. While right back DJ Jan Gunnar Solli should be back for this one, the Red Bulls will still be missing up to six regulars, including star forward Thierry Henry. Forward phenom Juan Agudelo could see his first action after a long spell out due to injury.

The Galaxy are coming off a midweek away loss @Seattle. The Galaxy however, did not have several of their big time players for that one - including Becks, Landycakes and Robbie Keane. They'll be back for this one, however, and they'll be ready to slam the Red Bulls. The one bright spot is that the Galaxy will be without their first choice keeper, as he is out due to drug addiction, and will have to field Red Bulls reject Bill Gaudette. But enough of that, let's get to some predictions.

Matt Conroy (aka Who Shot Sam) has this for us:

We are about as healthy as a leper colony at the moment. I would be utterly shocked if we got anything from this game. It will be a 90 minute exercise in damage limitation. 2-0 to LA, and that's being wildly optimistic.

I'm predicting a big fat loss for us. Mike Magee comes back to bite us in the ass, yet again, and scores a brace. Landycakes adds another one and it's a 3-0 Galaxy win.

Homebrew Tim has this for us:

LA needs a win, NY needs half their team back. I'm hoping to somehow stagger away with a 1-1 roads draw. I also want to see one of Red Bulls' young defenders, or maybe Ryan Meara, endear themselves to the fans by getting up in Landycakes' grill as soon as he starts complaining about the sand in his vagina.

Tom Faust has this for us:

I'm completely baffled by this team right now, but I do know that without Henry we'll be luck to score 1 goal and that LA's attack is much better than New England's. The smart money is on an #RBNY loss, and I think it will be by at least 2 goals: 2-0

David Kilpatrick (aka Dr.K.) has this for us:

I think the Richards-Cooper combo will catch the Gals off guard and we'll shock the league with a famous 2-3 road win for the only SuperClub clash of the regular season. At least a brace from Richards.

Last, but certainly not least, the great You Suck Corrales has this for us:

Who knows. We might get something out of this. But I doubt it. Henry is the heart, soul and brains of this team. Without him I see complete destruction. But at least Keel is still hurt. I think we lose 0-4 or something like that.
That's it for now! Look for our Award Winning coverage of this one soon. I hope to see you all next weekend @The Cathedral of Football, Red Bull Arena (built by Makita). Viper Out!
