RBNY vs Chivas USA: A Draw at The Death

Once again, another draw and another two points dropped, at home, against a team that's not one of the strongest in MLS (to put it mildly). That said, we were a few seconds away from not getting anything at all from this one, so... I'll take it.

I'm not going to re-live the finer points of this game here, but I will say that I can't remember RBNY playing a worst half of soccer ever (the 1st half of this one) at Red Bull Arena. Another horror outing for Richard Eckersley and another game where our dysfunctional midfield offered nothing to the altar of creativity. Long balls and crosses and that's it. I've called us Bolton-Lite before and I'm gonna stick to that description.

Alrighty then! Two straight away games coming up. With Cahill likely out for (at least) one game, that will leave us without our two best offensive weapons (Henry, as he doesn't play on turf, and Cahill) and our best defensive weapon (Olave, no turf for him as well) against Montreal. On top of that, our two best right back options left this one with injuries. But never mind all that! We need to pick up points now or we could be in a giant, no playoffs for us, hole in two weeks time. And it's a good thing we don't have relegation here. ;)
