The MLS Season Is Upon US: Git In RBNY!

Tomorrow, to be exact. The Red Bulls start the season off @Vancouver (7:30pm ET, MSG2) looking to finally challenge for an MLS Cup. They'll probably be without Henry and Olave, who don't take kindly to turf. They'll also start the season sans a GM, and in the midst of a referee lockout, but that's neither here nor there.

Seemed like a bit a long off-season, with the Red Bulls losing several veteran players and signing a couple of new ones (with these three rookies being signed yesterday).

With several mixed results from the pre-season matches down in Florida, is our team well prepared for this "MLS Cup or Bust" season? That's the million dollar question. There is some optimism from the pundits, but mostly there isn't. As this is a most pivotal MLS season for the our boys (as Yonkers FC starts play next season), there is no better time than the present to start making a case for MLS Cup glory.

But never mind all that right now. Let us take you back a few weeks, when several of the TVN crew (including myself) caught a titanic pre-season RBNY fixture, against Montreal (a 3-Nil RBNY victory, some highlights here), down at the Disney Wide World of Sports Center in Orlando. Check out the video above, with special guest Bobby Convey, Mike Petke and Johnny Steele. Please click here for my photo album of this event and click below for the another video featuring the relocated You Suck Corrales MetroStars/Red Bulls museum (now residing in Flagler Beach, FL).

And if you are so inclined, please click here for some pictures from our time at the Daytona 500 (which was sensationally documented by the great Matt Conroy in this post on the Rep Man blog) and here for a bit of video from that momentous day.

That's all for now. Hopefully I'll see some of you at tomorrow's watch party @The Cathedral of Football, Red Bull Arena (built by Makita). The big viper is outta here!
